Infant care is provided for infants two weeks to walking. Open Arms has one infant room. The infant room has the capacity for nine babies with three teachers. The teachers use creative lesson planning, soft music and individual interaction to stimulate eye-hand coordination and develop new skills and abilities.
Toddler care is provided for children who are walking and 12 months to 36 months old. Children are assigned teachers according to their physical and social development. The teachers are screened, trained and have experience relating to toddlers. Our teachers are patient and respectful of all children.
Preschool care is provided for children three to five years of age. Children may advance to the preschool room provided they are developmentally ready.
The Open Arms Preschool teachers stay current on early childhood teaching methods. Lesson plans are designed creatively with the interests of the child in mind.
Pre-Kindergarten care is provided for children 4 and 5 years of age. It is the goal of Open Arms to prepare these children for Kindergarten.
The teachers plan their weekly lesson plans using both teacher directed and child selected activities. Child directed curriculum allows children to learn cooperation, problem solving and it also allows the children to have an active part in deciding what they will be learning based on their interests.
Kindergarten Kids is a before and after school program designed for Kindergarten age children. During the summer when school is not in session, this room will transform into a full day school age classroom offering age appropriate activities.
Our teachers meet and exceed the requirements specified in the Kansas Statutes and Regulations for Licensing Preschools and Child Care Centers.
Summer Recreation is a school age program to meet the child's needs through recreational activities and the parents' wish to continue educational activities. We will transport your child to adventurous and educational locations to encourage growth in all areas of development. Outings include, but are not limited to: swimming, bowling, museums, theater, aquatic playgrounds, the Zoo, etc. Currently enrolled children will take part in making the summer activity schedule.
